Outgoing Israel Defense Forces Chief of Armor, Brigadier General Guy Hasson, has told Yediot Ahronot that he was under the impression that the decision to freeze the women's recruitment for combat tank service at the end of a pilot in the southern sector was made out of "completely professional" considerations.
Hasson said, "My recommendation is to extend the project to additional ongoing security areas. I intentionally am not saying that the pilot proved itself but we did see that it had potential."
