The Transport Ministry and Jerusalem Municipality, in cooperation on a transport master plan, are promoting a project in which public transport will be given preference on the Menachem Begin Route in Jerusalem.
In the first phase, work will only be performed between the Benzion Interchange and Golda Meir on the southern route. The lane, which will be called a "public" (only) lane, will be constructed on the side of existing lanes and is intended for public transport. It will not be built at the expense of the three existing lanes, and in addition to this section there will also be a shoulder.
