Last weekend, about 4,000 traffic tickets were issued on Israeli roads. About 250 drivers were caught while committing traffic offenses, using still cameras and tactical cameras.
More than 1,000 drivers were speeding over the allowed limit, approximately 600 drivers were caught driving while talking on the mobile phone, and 85 vehicles were disabled for 30 days in the impound lot due to serious offenses committed by their owners.
71 drunken drivers were arrested, their vehicle disabled for 30 days and their driver's licenses revoked for a similar period.
