Communications Minister of David Amsalem is urging parents to demand free filtering of offensive sites by Internet and cellular providers.
Amsalem said, Tuesday, "Every day, our children are exposed to violent, blatant and inappropriate content on the Internet. Cellular companies and Internet providers are not letting customers know, as they are obliged to provide free site filtering tools. Therefore, we imposed economic sanctions on them for hundreds of thousands of shekels." He concluded, "Dear parents, stand up for your rights and demand from your Internet and cellular providers, a tool for filtering offensive sites at no cost. We will not compromise on the safety of our children."
