The Local Planning and Building Committee chaired by Acting Jerusalem Mayor Eliezer Rauchberger, approved the extension of the Knesset building.
Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Leon congratulated the approval: "We welcome the plan that comes to strengthen national institutions in the capital of the State of Israel.
"Widening and expanding the Knesset of Israel, our national House of Representatives, is of the utmost importance, alongside being transformed into a 'green' structure, beneficial to the environment and an arrowhead for the rest of the people's ministries. We'll continue to address all the needs of government officials in the city for convenient, efficient, and giving work for Israeli citizens."
