During the night, police were called to the Nahar Yarden Street in Beit Shemesh following a report of noise and brawl in a public park. Upon returning to the patrol car, they spotted a punctured tire and the suspect fleeing the scene, and tried to arrest him.
A brawl developed at the scene and other young men attacked police for the purpose of helping the detainee escape, allegedly forcing police to shoot in the air for fear of their lives, which drove away the attackers and allowed police to arrest two of them.
The three suspects in their 20s were brought to the police station for questioning and later today one will be brought before the court for a hearing on their case.
