NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, will lead the development of a moon lander, BBC reported.
The lander will send astronauts to the moon in 2024.
The facility is the same one which developed the giant rocket for the Apollo program in the 1960s.
The decision was made by Jim Bridenstine.
