The management of the Osem Group announced on Thursday that it was hiring Rabbi Rafael Manat to succeed Rabbi Yaakov Charlap, who has reached retirement age after more than 30 years, building up the company's kashrut apparatus and achieving significant breakthroughs in the world of kashrut.

For the past decade Rabbi Manat has headed the Binyamina-Giv'at Ada Religious Council. He was director of the Zichron Yaacov kashrut department for about 20 years, responsible for kashrut in Haifa along with Zichron Yaacov Rabbi Mordechai Abromsky.
