Director Yael Patir of the Jewish-American left-wing lobby J Street claimed on Thursday, "Preventing the entry of Congress members Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib will be a declaration of war on the Democratic Party, which over the years has been Israel's strongest support base in the United States."

Saying that Israel must be careful "not to be drawn into and identified with" US President's Donald Trump's "hate rhetoric," she added, "A responsible policy is to contain the criticism of American lawmakers and, if need be, to argue with it, but certainly not to make an act that will constitute an Israeli divorce from the party whose representative has a high chance of sitting in the White House in two years."
