The Movement for Quality Government has sent an urgent letter to the Civil Service Commissioner and members of the Appointments Committee, demanding that Attorney Ofir Cohen not be appointed director-general of the ministry.

Movement Chairman Eliad Shraga argued that "Minister Ohana has lowered the Justice Ministry to a new low, nominating his best friend to be the office's executive director." The movement said, in a statement, "There is no sense in approving the appointment of an external CEO who did not come from the civil service and is not a senior jurist with exemplary management capabilities for such a short period of time. Advocate Cohen's resume, though impressive, does not indicate any special ability to run an office, certainly not such a large office and in such a sensitive and difficult period."
