The Population and Immigration Authority says that Rosmarie Perez and her son Rohan, who were deported to her native Philippines Monday night, was knowingly in Israel for 12 years, during which she did not engage in nursing but cleaning jobs.

A statement from the authority said, "Rosemarie was detained in recent months for being illegal and committed, like other detainees, to leave at the end of her child's school year," adding that she did not meet that commitment. The statement said that following her arrest, a week ago, various courts, including the Supreme Court ruled that there was no defect in her arrest and rejected her request for a restraining order against the deportation.
