Former Knesset member Stav Shaffir has responded to the harsh criticism of Minister Bezalel Smotrich against the judiciary and Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit by saying, "Smotrich is the epitome of the destruction of Israeli democracy. He and the messianic ideology he leads are the destruction of the judicial system and the justice system."
Referring to corruption allegations against Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, the Democratic Union Knesset candidate added, "Netanyahu is giving the state to these extremists in exchange for the largest political bribe in history - control of the state in return for refuge from the threat of law."
