Three citizens of India who came to volunteer at two kibbutzim in Israel have been recognized by the police as victims of slavery conditions after they submitted an affidavit at the Kav LaOved Association, according to Galei Tzahal radio.
In the affidavit, the volunteers said they were banned from leaving the kibbutzim, which took their passports so that they could not escape, and were fined as a means of punishment. Calling the claims "a complete lie", the kibbutzim and the kibbutz movement said there are a few volunteers who choose to utilize the volunteer visa and flee from kibbutzim in the periphery to work in the center of the country.
