Member of Knesset Uri Maklev (United Torah Judaism) has criticized the Supreme Court for proposing that Tiberias Mayor Ron Cobi head a committee to be established in place of the city council in order to pass the budget, pending a hearing on Cobi's case in October.
MK Maklev said, "Unfortunately, the court is providing support to a person who is not suitable for the job, acts against the residents and does not have the trust of the council members who were democratically elected by the public. The court is again showing that the anti-religious flag is enough for the judges to authorize a person who is inappropriate."
