Member of Knesset Shlomo Kari (Likud) recently removed his name from a class action suit against the collection by banks of double interest on early repayment of housing loans.
Deciding that the struggle for the public interest in this matter should be in the Knesset and not in the courts, he said, "I decided to withdraw from the suit and to continue the struggle against the banking oppression [of the public] from the Knesset and with G-d's help, I will succeed in acting on behalf of the public on this and other issues."
