Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit is favorably considering a request by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu for an opinion that would allow Ron Dermer to continue as Israel's ambassador to the United States for a year until the end of the school year for Dermer's children, according to Channel 12 News.
The Civil Service Commission will only agree to an extension of a few months. The Justice Ministry said the examination of the matter was at advanced stages and that the decision will be rendered in the next few days.
