Former justice minister Ayelet Shaked told the Orthodox Union's Yom NCSY event in Raanana, Wednesday evening, "Unfortunately, assimilation in the United States is on the rise and the State of Israel must deal with the phenomenon and ensure the strengthening of Jewish identity among the various communities."

Shaked noted, "The OU works to prevent these phenomena and makes contact with young people in high school and before they meet with anti-Semitism and BDS on various campuses. 30 years ago, Diaspora Jewry had to support Israel, but today Israel is a strong country and it needs to strengthen the communities around the world."
