Yossi Dagan: 'PA taking control of Area C - and no one speaks'

Shomron Regional Council head Yossi Dagan responded to the placing of PLO flags this morning throughout Judea and Samaria: "The reality of tens of thousands of illegal houses built by the Palestinian Authority in Area C that encounter zero response from the authorities, is much more serious than hanging a few PLO flags and taking them down an hour later. Regavim are right in their demands and every decent person should strengthen them. The government must come to its senses. If the government doesn't come to its senses, there could be a terrorist state here.

"If the government doesn't come to its senses and stop the Palestinian Authority taking control of Area C with the assistance of the European Union, the appearance of Palestinian flags over Samaria will not be a hallucinatory sight but the reality on the ground.

"The Palestinian Authority, with the knowledge of the relevant authorities, is gradually taking control of Area C in Judea and Samaria and is establishing facts on the ground, and we aren't demanding any immediate change in the area and building an emergency plan to stop this quiet takeover of areas under full Israeli sovereignty."
