Union of Local Authorities Chairman Chaim Bibas called on the Labor Ministry to concentrate on efforts on protecting construction site workers as determined by law.
"The Labor Ministry has been given full responsibility for the safety of workers at construction sites and has received a budget and supervision from the State for the sake of the matter. The Ministry must stop its work and focus on efforts to protect construction site workers as determined by law. To get into the thick of the matter and examine the conduct of the Labor Ministry, which unfortunately doesn't do its work.
"In the event that the Labor and Social Affairs Minister chooses to evade responsibility for the construction sites and safety of the construction workers, he's invited to sit with us in an orderly manner to transfer the full authority and budget required for supervision."
