The Israel Defense Forces are investigating a serious safety failure that took place during an IDF exercise last week, according to Channel 12 News.
Teams involved in the drill were unaware that the Magellan elite unit was operating not far from them and mortar shells were fired at the place where they were operating. The shells fell near a the force, which was able to take cover and use the communications network to ask troops in the exercise to hold their fire. Fortunately there were no casualties.
