The Tiberias city council on Tuesday evening rejected the budget proposal submitted by Mayor Ron Kobi following a stormy debate that lasted more than four hours.
After the vote ended and it became clear that the budget proposal was not approved the mayor declared that this is a "black day for the city of Tiberias."
During the meeting, the District Commissioner in the Ministry of the Interior clarified to the council members that if the budget is not approved, the Interior Minister may, by law, dissolve the council and appoint an appointed committee in its place.
