General Motti Almoz, who heads the Personnel Branch in the Israel Defense Forces, has announced that five soldiers a year with highly-developed careers in the fields of music and acting will be granted lenient service conditions and the IDF will benefit from their capabilities in the form of appearances to soldiers throughout the country.
The Talent Track allows its soldiers 90 special vacation days per year, 120 days of deferment and high flexibility on the part of their unit, so that they can maintain an active career. For example, IDF Radio reports singer Noa Kirel, who is in the advanced stages of induction, was transferred to the track route last week and is scheduled to report to a military band, joining her partner Yonatan Margi, who is the first soldier to be accepted to the track.
