Police arrested six suspects on Tuesday morning for questioning under caution and detained eight more suspects on suspicion of belonging to a network that smuggled foreigners through Ben-Gurion Airport to the State of Israel.

It is suspected that members of the network, including employees of companies that provide services to the airport, acted in an organized and systematic manner over a period of time, succeeding in bypassing the security mechanisms at the border crossings at Ben-Gurion Airport and smuggling Georgian citizens into the State of Israel without passing through the passport and crossings control system as required by law.

Each of the members of the network had a specific role in assisting the smuggling in exchange for money while acting to disguise his actions from the eyes of the enforcement authorities.
