The Pilots Association is warning of interference and disruption of Global Positioning Satellite reception in Israel, which is endangering aviation, according to the Israel Public Broadcasting Corporation.
El Al Israel Airlines stresses that this poses a safety threat to all air operators, including foreign companies. The Israel Airports Authority says, "We recognized the problem. At the same time all the flight paths and the descent to landing have alternatives that do not require GPS reception. The disruption is not continuous and therefore the control tower directs the planes to these alternatives as necessary."
