Justice Minister Amir Ohana published a clarification on his Facebook page on Wednesday evening following his interview with Channel 12 News.
“Let it be clear: Without a legal system there is no democracy. It is clear to me after watching the interview that was broadcast this evening that it is important to emphasize: In my view, the first and foremost responsibility of each country is the safety and security of its citizens.”
"The obvious must also be said: The decisions of the courts must be respected. So I have always done, so I believe. The State of Israel is a democracy that upholds the rule of law - and that is how it will remain," Ohana wrote.
