The National Infrastructure Committee has endorsed a project to connect the Western Wall area of Jerusalem's Old city with Mount Zion and the First Railroad Station complex at the end of Emek Refaim Street via cable car.
The goal of the project is to help ease congestion in the area. Opponents say it would damage the landscape of the historic basin of the Old City. The project now goes to the cabinet for approval.
