Chairman Avigdor Liberman of the Yisrael Beiteinu Party rejected Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's claim that "cosmetic repairs" in the law to regulate haredi-religious induction into the Israel Defense Forces were responsible for Israel standing on the brink of new elections.

Writing on Twitter, Liberman said, "Mr. Prime Minister, this is not cosmetic repairs. It's a surrender to the haredim. I repeat my proposal: Let's pass the law on second and third readings without changes, without the haredim."
