The Ashdod Magistrates Court has indicted three Israelis for smuggling more than 4,700 packs of cigarettes through the Eilat-Ashkelon Pipeline Port and evading payment of more than 869,000 shekels in import taxes.
According to the indictment, the defendants acted on a number of occasions during August 2016 to smuggle the cigarettes by ordering them from the captain of a foreign ship and having them delivered by a service boat.
