Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz has instructed the director general of the Israel Airports Authority to examine the construction of a direct train line between Ramon Airport and Eilat to address congestion caused by the relocation of the airport from the city, according to Channel 13 News.

The cost of the entire project is estimated at NIS 1 billion and will be used on an electric train, as was done on the line between Ben Gurion Airport and Jerusalem. The project team is expected to present a preliminary plan of action for the construction of the tracks to the minister within two weeks.
