The Uzbekistani security service announced a few days ago that Israelis who were caught at the airport with bullets would be sent to prison, according to Yediot Ahronot.
In an official letter sent to the Israeli embassy in Tashkent, the Muslim state in Central Asia made it clear that severe measures would be taken against Israelis and that they could face prison sentences. Over the past two years there have been at least 15 cases of Israelis detained in Tashkent, including two Israelis who were caught with bullets in their bags after landing there for connecting flights to India and Thailand. In both cases the Israelis were detained, but after the embassy intervened they were released.
