In preparation for Memorial Day for Israel's Fallen Soldiers and Hostilities, the Bituach Leumi National Insurance Institute reported on Tuesday that the number of civilians killed in hostilities since the declaration of the modern State of Israel is 3,150 (including civilians murdered in the recent events in the south).

That includes 120 foreign citizens who were killed in terrorist attacks in Israel and 100 Israelis who died abroad. In the year since the last Independence Day, 13 civilians have been murdered.
