Israel Railways: 'False claims for media consumption'

The Israel Railways management responded to the libel suit filed by the workers' committee for NIS 1 million.

"This is a frivolous suit for media consumption, intended to serve the struggle of Ms. Edrei in light of the current investigation of Judge Strashnov's events, and we regret that in the week of the renewal of the negotiations, Gila Edrei chooses to continue to deny the serious harm caused to the passengers, through several illegal and violent phenomena, including wildly and violently halting trains using the emergency network, by the Deputy Chairman of the Committee Liav Eliyahu who signed the lawsuit.

"The railway administration's only apology is for the passengers, who have been severely damaged in the last few weeks as a result of the actions of the committee leaders, who reached their peak with the injury of the railway command, after illegal actions of workers. We call on Gila Edri and her deputies to continue to maintain calm in the the industry, as instructed by the Labor Court, and to reach the negotiating table in good faith."
