Against the backdrop of the closure of the Harsa ceramics plant in Be'er Sheva, a senior official of the Phoenicia glass-container plant in nearby Yeruham told News 12 on Monday evening, "The plant is in danger of immediate closure, and if the government does not intervene, 240 workers will go home."
The official said the factory is suffering heavy losses due to a boycott by Gur hasidim over the fact that the factory operates on Shabbat. Recently, efforts have been made to reach agreements between the parties in order to bring an end to the boycott, but this has not yet resulted in a solution.
