For the first time at Ichilov Medical Center, a kidney transplant was carried out for organ donation from an already deceased emergency room patient.
"This is a new capability recently developed in the hospital and is not yet widespread in Israel or around the world, according to which already in the trauma room critical activities are carried out to preserve the kidneys," according to Ichilov Hospital Emergency Medicine Director Dr. Daniel Trotsky.
