The Be'er Sheva District Court sentenced two 20-year-old women from the Be'er Sheva-area Bedouin town of Lakiya to prison terms on a plea bargain on crimes against state security.
Tasneen Al-Asad is to serve five years in prison and four-and-a-half years in prison were imposed on Rahma Al-Asad on offenses of contact with a foreign agent, preparation for the commission of an offense that is an act of terrorism, conspiracy to commit a crime and other offenses according to their roles. The Israel Public Broadcasting Corporation said they were convicted of joining the Islamic State terror movement and planned attacks using explosives in Be'er Sheva.
