Maccabi Tel Aviv is in advanced negotiations with former player and the first Israeli in North America's National Basketball Association, Omri Casspi, according to Yisrael Hayom.
The team has proposed a three-year contract with the astronomical sum for an Israeli player of $4 million, and a promise of a professional position in the club after he retires as a player. The two sides talked in 2014 but Casspi preferred to sign for two years with Sacramento. He was cut by Golden State before its championship run in 2018 due to an injury but was awarded a championship ring for his efforts in the regular season. He was waived by Memphis in February due to an injury.
