An archaeological dig in preparation for the construction of a neighborhood near the northern entrance to Be'er Sheva has revealed evidence of a Jewish community from the Second Temple period.
Among the finds - a lamp with decoration - among the earliest known in research, limestone vessels that do not receive impurity, the remains of an observation tower and more. The dig covers an area of more than two dunams/half an acre.
