Minister of Education Naftali Bennet has informed Professor Dan Yakir of his winning the Israel Prize in Geology, Earth Sciences and Atmospheric Sciences.
Bennett said, "At the station he put up in the Yattir Forest, Prof. Yakir is exploring the interactions between the biosphere and the atmosphere, especially the ways in which vegetation affects the environment and the climate."
