Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz thanked visiting Brazilian counterpart Ernesto Araujo and Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro on Sunday for their decision to open trade offices in Jerusalem, which will constitute an extension of their embassy, in what is hoped will be the first step to transfer the Brazilian embassy to the capital.
Katz also called on Brazil to join the United States in its efforts to implement economic and political measures against Iran's nuclear program and its support for terrorism. Araujo called the visit "a very exciting moment for us. The Brazilian people chose President Bolsonaro to bring Israel to the top of his list of priorities."
