Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu received this morning Bank of Israel Governor Prof. Amir Yaron who presented him with the Bank of Israel's 2018 report at the Prime Minister's Office in Jerusalem.
Yaron told the Prime Minister, "I'm pleased to present you with the Bank of Israel report for 2018. It was a good year for the Israeli economy, and the economy's in good shape. The report reviews many aspects of the Israeli economy, monetary policy, welfare, and the balance of payments. Also, short-term fiscal challenges and opportunities to improve growth in the long term."
"I'm happy to hear this," Netanyahu said, "The economy is in good shape because our policy is good, we've reached a unique achievement, unemployment is at an all-time-low and wages are rising rapidly. It's a combination, as you know, that's unusual, not obvious, but it's one of the great achievements."
