Sephardic Chief Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef has ruled that the biblical prohibition against men wearing women's clothes and vice versa includes Purim costumes and applies to children as well as adults.
Rabbi Yosef's remarks were cited at length on the haredi-religious site Kikar Hashabat. The ruling reflects rabbinic opinions handed down through the ages.
