The median hourly wage was NIS 28 for women claiming unemployment and NIS 36 for unemployed men, indicating that women's hourly wages constituted only 78% of men's wages, according to the just-released findings of a survey conducted among jobseekers seeking unemployment and income support in 26 offices located in peripheral communities.
Women seeking unemployment benefits also reported fewer hours of work, 36.5 hours per week on average, compared with 43.1 hours among unemployed men.
