Following the publication on Arutz 7, the New Right said that granting the Waqf permission to renovate the Sha'ar HaRachamim compound was "surrender to terrorist bullying."
"As in the previous renovations on the Temple Mount, this time the Waqf will destroy the antiquities and intentionally erase the memory of the Jewish people from the location... We call on the prime minister to deal with the disturbances and not surrender to terrorism."
