The Otzma Yehudit (Jewish Power) Party has used the word "embarrassing" to describe the Meretz Party's request to the Central Elections Committee to join the petition to disqualify Otzma Yehudit's Knesset list, as well as a letter on the matter by Member of Knesset Stav Shafir'.
A statement by Otzma Yehudit said, "To ask to disqualify Dr. [Michael] Ben-Ari because of criticism of the High Court of Justice or to disqualify attorney [Itamar] Ben-Gvir because he represented [parties in] the Duma case and said that the file should not be defined as a case of terrorism is an insult to the world of justice." The party added, "It is clear that Meretz and Labor are in a distress over seats, and therefore they are trying to deal with gimmicks rather than substance, and it turns out that parties that boast of freedom of expression turn out to be hypocrites."
