The Shas Party has reacted to the unification of parties headed by Benny Gantz and Yair Lapid by saying, "This union is dangerous to Judaism. Gantz, who supports civil marriage and transportation on Shabbat, is a friend of Lapid whose hatred of Judaism and religion is his profession. Jewish identity in the State of Israel is in danger and we will fight with all our might to prevent them from forming a government."

The Shas statement concluded, "Shas supports Binyamin Netanyahu as prime minister and a vote for Shas will ensure the establishment of a right-wing government and the preservation of the Jewish tradition and Jewish identity of the State of Israel."
