Palestinian Authority chairman Mahmoud Abbas met on Tuesday in Riyadh with King Salman of Saudi Arabia.
The official Saudi news agency reported that during the meeting, the king stressed the kingdom's support for the independence of the Palestinian people and for the establishment of an independent state with eastern Jerusalem as its capital. It was also reported that Abbas discussed with the king of Saudi Arabia the current political situation and the dangers facing the Palestinian issue, especially regarding Jerusalem.
