In recent months senior officials from Oman, in meetings with their American counterparts, have made several proposals on the core issues of the Israeli-Palestinian Authority negotiations, according to the Israel Public Broadcasting Corporation.
That included last month's meeting between Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said and United States Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. The sultan and senior Omanis raised ideas that were defined as "creative". The Omanis emphasized that they are not interested in mediating between the sides, but in recent months they have also met with senior PA officials in an attempt to persuade them to give a chance to the US peace plan.
