The Jerusalem District Court has sentenced a senior member of the haredi-religious Kehilat Hamatmidim to five years in prison for having been convicted of fraudulently receiving NIS 24 million ($6.5 million) from the Education Ministry.
Eight other Kehilat Hamatmidim suspects were convicted of receiving subsidies for educational institutions while falsifying student lists and forging identity cards.
