An indictment was filed against a 33-year-old resident of Ekron suspected of a stabbing last month at a gas station at Brenner Junction.
According to the indictment, the defendant arrived at the convenience store holding two bags and carrying a knife. The defendant walked over to the cigarette shelf behind the counter and asked to take his own cigarettes from the shelf. The seller refused and the defendant began to argue with him and curse him. At one point, the defendant took a can of tuna without paying for it and left the store.
The salesman followed the defendant out of the shop, retrieved the can of tuna, and returned to the shop. The defendant went back to the door of the shop, and in response the salesman returned to the door to prevent him from entering. The defendant then pulled out a knife and stabbed the seller in the stomach. The defendant fled the scene and the seller was evacuated to hospital.
