Member of Knesset Dov Khenin confirmed Tuesday his decision to resign from the Hadash party and not to run for another term after 12 years as an MK.
Khenin told a meeting in the Knesset that he was not resigning from political life but would work out in the field instead of at the top. He said that despite his achievements in passing laws and submitting bills, "Israel is going in a dangerous direction. In the absence of progress for peace, we will deteriorate into wars. The democratic arena is under heavy attack. The incitement of the government against the Arab public is increasing, racism is spreading, poverty and the gaps are deepening."
